Automation changes the whole landscape of digital ads strategy.
Just like traditional ads, how maximise the effectiveness of ads is always the core of work faced by marketers. Many marketers develop smart ways to make it happen.
However, although some of these methods like the A/B Test have already become standard in the industry, automation appears and becoming more and more mature, and these standards although they are still can be used, are not as good as new automation methods already.
Here is how you can implement automation easily in your digital ads over the A/B Test.
A/B test maybe is the most famous way to decide which content is the best one.
However, it bases on a situation that, which only one or a certain number of ads would be used in the final promotion. And there would be a test stage and an actual promotion stage in the whole promotion.
And it also neglects the fact that different people may perform differently towards different ads. That is, there is no one-size-fits-all ad.
Using automation, you can put A/B/C/D…versions of ads, which theoretically the more the better, into the ads set. The AI would decide which ads are most likely to perform on a specific person at a specific moment. This would give a tailor-made-like effect over the one-size-fits-all situation.
Another situation is that the ad has different parts, like the case in Meta platforms, there could be a primary text, a headline, and a description for each ad. However, if you have 5 versions of primary text, 5 versions of headline, and 5 versions of description, you would have 125 combinations of ads, which is not practical to use an A/B test to test it manually.
Automation could show the combination that the AI think is the best performance for the specific audience. Some automation can even generate the combination by changing the wording provided by you.
Besides, there would not be a completely separate testing stage and promotion stage.
A/B test could be still useful in some scenarios, such as testing the editing style in videos for future uses. However, the advance in automation brings a potentially better way compared to A/B Test.
